| Danielle | I have found the Law of Attraction has worked for me on countless occasions. This is the latest occurrence. I was sitting at my desk today, feeling despondent and thinking that my life needed moving on towards my goal. I was thinking that I wanted to find a hypnotherapy course of some sort, but I needed one that was based closer to my home - the only ones I had seen up to that point had been London-based and I would have found those almost impossible to attend. I typed 'hypnotherapy, Hertfordshire' into Google and clicked on the link for this site. The first thing I see is a map with a red ring around Hemel Hempstead … which is where I live. I'm just going away to attract the money for the fees now! |
| Stella | The perfect example of the Law of Attraction working against me...At the beginning of the year I had a fungal infection. I looked it up on the internet and it said to avoid eating stilton and mushrooms. I never eat stilton anyway so thought it would be easy enough to avoid stilton and mushrooms. Later that week, my mum cooked me dinner, stilton covered mushrooms wrapped in parma ham. I babysat that weekend for a wedding, and because it was through the afternoon and evening they provided dinner. You've guessed it. room service bought up waffles laced with cubes of stilton and chopped mushrooms. |
| Gemma | I really wanted to attract more £50.00 notes into my life, I'd only ever had in my possession 3 in the past, so I took a photo of some my mum had and set them as my screen saver on my laptop and mobile phone. That week, my mum asked if I could change 2 £50's for her, which I could because I hadn't done my business banking yet. The next day, a lady came see me for therapy. She owed me £65.00 but said she didn't have change and gave me 2 £50's. The day after that, another person paid with a £50.00 note so I managed to attract 5 in one week! |
| Dick | I've managed to attract a lot of debt over the years, so when I met my new girlfriend (who is very prosperity focused) it came as a bit of a shock! She taught me about the law of attraction and we watched "The Secret" together. Very soon, I started to notice adverts for debt consolidation companies all over the place. I attracted more money at work and a second job to pay the debt off faster. I no longer focus on the debt and instead give my focus to the money I am attracting! |
| Bobbyjo | the fact that I am moving is Law of Attraction working at it's best! About 2 years ago my husband and I were living in sub-standard housing. We lived in a little trailer that had so much water damage that all of the walls were covered in black mold,and we were getting sick. That is when my husband and I were introduced to the Secret. The first thing that happened is less than 1 month after focusing our intention we moved from the trailer into a beautiful townhouse. Now,a year after that we have manifested a big brick home in a wonderful neighborhood!! So much is possible when we focus our intention and show gratitude for what we have. Gratitude is the key. |

Ever since we watched "The Secret," we have been fascinated by The Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is scientifically proven in Quantum Physics. What has been discovered in Quantum Physics, is that thoughts can be measured and interpreted to a frequency which attracts a match of what you are thinking about. Basically your thoughts are like magnets, and like attracts like- good thoughts attract more good and bad thoughts attract more bad.
The reason why this happens is simply because everything in the universe is made up of energy, even the most solid thing at a solid cellular quantum level, is just energy that is popping in and out of existence. Your thoughts are also made up of energy and every time you think one it travels around 250,000 miles into the universe. Your thought will then attract to you whatever was in the content of your thought. As a metaphorical example, when you put an item on Ebay, lets say you are selling NLP Training, anyone who is interested in buying NLP Training will be directed to your Ebay listing, because you had stated what you are selling (put your energy there) they had stated what they wanted to buy (put their energy there) and they saw your advert and bought your training (attracted to each other).
We've always joked that there are only two kinds of state, the right state and a right state! Now, knowing what we've learned from the Law of Attraction, it seems that this is actually true. You will always be attracting what you are thinking about (ever been thinking of an old friend and had them call you later that week?) If you're thinking about the things that you want, you are much more likely to attract what you want, if you're thinking about what you don't want, your going to attract what you don't want. The Law of Attraction doesn't distinguish between what is good for you or what is bad for you, it's simple. You get more of what you focus on.
"You get what you focus on" is really nothing new to us, the challenge is that most of us have got really good at focusing on what we don't want, and getting more of it. Some of us are able to spend some time thinking about what we do want, and some of the time thinking about what we don't want,and that creates a flat. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just ok. And a few people (Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Donald Trump, Alan Sugar, Anita Roddick etc) have got really good at attracting what they actually want. These people do not live in a different universe to you or I, we are all on the same planet with the same opportunities. The difference is that they see more of them! That's why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
There's a bit more to it than thinking positive, as you've heard me say at the free NLP event, positive thinking is not enough, you also need to take action. So, you know that you must have in mind what you want (your goal). consider the following conversations which take part in a travel agents.
Travel Agent: "Hello, can I help you?"
Customer : "I don't want to put up with this weather anymore!"
TA: "Ok, are you looking to go away?"
C: "I need a break from work"
TA: "So, would you like to book something?"
C: "I'm fed up with feeling tired and cold!"
TA: "Do you want to book a holiday?"
C: "I haven't got any money either. ."
TA: "DO YOU WANT SOME HOLIDAY INFORMATION?"
C: "I don't seem to be getting anywhere here. Forget about it, I'm going home!"
There are a couple of things happening in the above conversation. Firstly, the Customer hasn't stated what they want from the Travel Agent. Secondly, the Customer is telling the Travel Agent what they don't want, and thirdly, the Travel Agent is unable to provide what the Customer wants. Now consider the conversation from the perspective of the Travel Agent being the Universe, and the Customer being you. How many times in the past have you wanted something and not got it?
TA: "Hello, how can I help you?"
C: "I want to go on holiday."
TA: "When would you like to go?"
C: "I've got a week off from 29th February 2008, so then."
TA: "Where would you like to go?"
C: "Spain."
TA: "Where in Spain, specifically?"
C: "Majorca, a 3 star hotel, bed and breakfast."
TA: "Who will be going with you?"
C: "My husband. Just the two of us."
TA: "How much would you like to spend?"
C: "Less than £800.00"
TA: "Where will your journey start? Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton or Stansted?"
C: "Luton is nearer, but I'm able to be flexible if it means going on holiday."
TA: "How will you pay for it?"
C: "Credit card?"
TA: "Ok, I have a holiday on the system, it's one week in Majorca in a 3 star hotel, flying from Luton on 29th February 2008. It's all inclusive instead of bed and breakfast and will cost £839.00 for both you and your husband. have a look at the picture and tell me what you feel about that."
C: "Splendid, I'll book it now."
This time, the customer, knew what she wanted. She stated what she wanted (instead of what she didn't want) and because she had already thought about the questions the travel agent would ask, she was able to answer them and got a result.
So as well as stating what you want in the positive, you need to consider the questions and points the travel agent made:
The above questions enable you to get really specific about what it is that you want, or in the context of a holiday, specific about your destination. When you book your holiday, you don't necessarily know how you will get there, most of us don't enquire about the flight path that the plane will take, and we don't need to. We trust that the pilot will get us there in the safest and quickest way. The same applies to your goal, you don't need to know how you will get there, you just need to know where you are going and belief that you will get there within your given time frame. Let your unconscious mind be the pilot. Trust it will get you there in the safest and quickest way by presenting to you the opportunities you need to make the goal happen.
There is a part of your brain called the RAS (Reticular Activating System) which is a filter that takes instruction from you conscious mind about the things you should be paying attention to. If your goal is to own a BMW and you're constantly, consciously thinking and day dreaming about owning a BMW, the RAS is the part of your mind that brings every BMW for sale advert, BMW garage and passing BMW car into your awareness.
You must always keep in mind how it is that you'll know when you've got what you want (BMW on the drive, keys in my hand, ownership document in my name) otherwise you'll never know when you've achieved your goal. There will be no exit strategy, and the destination will become unclear. If the pilot taking you on your holiday doesn't know what the destination is or how he'll know that it's time to land, well that could be a problem couldn't it?!
What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail? Really stretch yourself! One of the challenges that I had initially with practicing the Law of Attraction, was that the dream was so big, I felt like I was lying to myself every time I imagined achieving it, or thought about it. Think of it this way, you're lying to yourself every time you say that you can't do something. You can do anything that is humanly possible. (We teach the most awesome modeling techniques at NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner Training.)
The one thing that will determine success or failure is your level of belief in your ability to achieve your goal. You need to believe that you will do it from the bottom of your boots. I remember when I (Gemma) gave up my job as a manager at a children's nursery to set up my hypnotherapy practice. My mum said to me "If it doesn't work out, you can always go back to working with children." To which I replied "But it will work out." To which she replied "Yes but if it doesn't, you can always go back-" To which I replied "But it will work out." This conversation of few words went on for several minutes, (infuriating me.) You see, having my new business not work out, just wasn't on my radar. I believed from the bottom of my boots that it would work out just fine (and it did.)
Every morning (at least) or every night, you must aid your focus on your goal by visualizing what you will see, hear and feel when you have got it. Scientists that studied brain activity in athletes, discovered that the same neural networks in the mind are activated when the athlete visualizes doing their sport as when they are actually doing the sport. There for it is important to visualize so that your neural networks are wired for success and you can practice being successful at achieving your goal, all the time sending your thought energy into the universe to attract your goal further towards you.
Some people find visualize easier than others and some people "think" more than "see" actual movies in their minds. Either way it works and everyone has the ability to do it because all of our memories are stored as pictures first, the sounds and feelings only follow after the picture. If you're not convinced that you can do it, try the following exercise:
I want you to memo rise the following words in order. Because your conscious mind can probably only remember the sequence of about 7 things, I'm going to give you a way of remembering the words. Read through the list first and see how many you can remember without the technique below, then see how easily you remember them all when you do use the technique.
Now think of the follow, really imagine the scenarios you read about:
Bear>photograph
A bear is in his cave which is furnished with old ladies chintzy furniture. On the bookcase is a photograph of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
photograph>bottle of water
You notice that Goldilocks is holding a bottle of Evian in the photo which you suspect is secret laced with gin, (she's never been the same since the ASBO)
Bottle of water>hairbrush
There's been a water shortage and you've got to wash your hair over the bath with bottle water. Only problem is that is makes you hair get very knotty and the hairbrush keeps getting stuck.
Hairbrush>rubbish bin
Oh dear, your hair had got so stuck in your matted mane, that you've had to throw the hairbrush, with hair attached in the rubbish bin. it's sticking out the top of the bin like a dead guinea pig.
Rubbish bin>bed
You come home from work to discover someone has emptied the contents of your rubbish bin in your bed. Very smelly, and lots of damp patches all over you duvet.
Bed>alien
You go to the cupboard to get clean sheets (after removing the contents of the bin) and discover on your return a six foot green alien in your bed.
Alien>shoes
After you have shoed the alien out of the front door, he knocks again to say he has forgotten his shoes. Indeed he has got bare green feet with 8 toes.
Shoes>window
You go back into your room to discover the aliens silver shoes hanging out the window, with fumes coming out of them. They really stink.
Window>mirror
You watch the alien fly off. You're not sure if he's waving through the spaceship as it has mirrored windows and you can only see your reflection.
Mirror>belt
You notice in your reflection that your belt has broken, the leather has snapped because you've got so fat.
Belt>candle
Using melted candle wax, you attempt to rejoin the two halves of the leather belt.
Candle>rug
Oops, you've dripped wax on the rug. You try to pick it off.
Rug>remote control
Whilst picking the wax off the rug, you lean on the remote control which causes the rug to lift off the ground, ooh, a magic carpet!
Remote control>vitamins
You float your carpet towards the tv by using the buttons on your remote control. When you switch the TV on, you catch the end of an advert which is advertising the magic remote control. You can make anything move my pointing the remote at it, and the lady on the tv is laying in bed, pointing the remote at a bottle of vitamins so that it unscrews the lid and tips them into her mouth.
Ok, the first one was bear, so turn away from the list and note how easily you recall the list.
When you have recalled the list, realise how you did it. You made pictures, didn't you? Don't try telling me that you can't visualize.
If you're not sweating, then you're not working! It's not enough to just want it and visualize it happening. The Law of Attraction works on the basis of energy, and to attract energy in, you must also put it out. Decide what little steps you need to take (no one can eat an elephant in one go, you need to take small bites) and start to actually take them.
Your feelings are your feedback devise. If you're not feeling good, then your energy isn't being submitted in the best way of attracting your goal. You can change the way you are feeling in a instant, they're your feelings so take charge. Nasa did an experiment with the astronaut's using upside down goggles. The astronaut's had to wear the goggles 24 hours a day. After 30 days, their brains had caught onto the scam, rewired and turned everything right side up again. This tell us that for our brains to be rewired to succeed at our goals, we need to consciously focus on our goal, consistently for at least 30 days in a row. If you find that you are not focusing on your goal every day, the problem is simple. You don't want it badly enough.
The chances are, most people in your life are not as focused and driven by The Law of Attraction as you are. This can be a real problem. When you're convinced that something can really work but the people you love and care about are telling you it's a load of poppycock, you can easily loose sight of the great potential you have. That's why, as well as believing, it's important to be around others who believe in you to. That's why we created this interactive page, so that we can help you to stay on target and notice when the law of attraction is working for you.You can help yourself too, by being aware of what you absorb from others. If the TV, Radio and people around you are always focusing on the negative, then it's time to take a break from them. Don't let anyone interfere with your good feelings. If you begin feeling angry about the latest political storm being aired on tv, guess what, you end up attracting more anger into your life.
If you feel you've tried everything and it's still not working, try the following:
Double check that you're focus is on what you want (not what you don't want!)This include the language you are using within your own mind. If you're using any affirmations, they must be positive. You might think that you're being positive by affirming "I don't want to have fear" but your unconscious will not process the negative within the statement, leaving you with "I want to have fear." You must reframe this statement and affirm "I have peace and courage." This focuses on what you want and also presupposes that you already have it, which of course you do, you just need to expand it.
Sometimes, we have become so conditioned that we maybe "psychologically reversed." This means that you have more belief (and therefore more power) in the negative than the positive. You can test to see if you are psychologically reversed by thinking of your goal and affirming "I will achieve X" at the same time as holding your arm out firm in front of you. Get someone else to push down on your arm and test the strength as you affirm this. Then think of the opposite and affirm that "I can not achieve X." At the same time, hold your arm out in front of you and get someone else to push down on your arm to test the strength of it as you affirm this. Your arm should be stronger when you affirm "I will achieve X." If it is stronger when you affirm "I can not achieve X," then you are probably psychologically reversed.
